Do I need my own AI API key?
Yes. OpenClawServer provides the deployment infrastructure - you bring your own AI provider API key. We support Anthropic Claude and OpenAI, plus local models (Ollama, llama.cpp) on GPU-capable servers. You'll also need API credentials for each messaging platform you connect (WhatsApp Business, Discord bot token, etc.).
What does self-hosted mean?
Self-hosted means you provide your own server from any cloud provider (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Hetzner, AWS, Akamai, or any custom server), and we handle the OpenClaw deployment and management. Your data stays on your infrastructure.
What server specs do I need?
Minimum recommended: 2 vCPU, 2GB RAM, 20GB storage. For running local AI models, you'll need a GPU-capable server. We provide setup guides for all supported providers.
What counts as a bot instance?
A bot instance is a single deployed OpenClaw that connects to your platforms. Each instance can connect to multiple platforms (Discord, Slack, Telegram, etc.) simultaneously.
Can I change plans later?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and we'll prorate any charges.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your access continues until the end of your billing period.
